FALL STUDIO OPEN HOUSE

Please come to my Studio in Carlisle for my Christmas Studio Open House. I will have all of my garden sculpture, totems, dragon tails, mushrooms, ceramic flowers, sink pots, butter dishes, etc along with felted items like small purses, iphone cases, key cozies, key chains, glasses cases, bookmarks, tapestries, coasters, as well as ceramic buttons, chicken planters & vases. Christmas Sale/Soup Bowl at the Art Gallery of Burlington

As a member of the Burlington Potters' Guild, I will once again have a couple of tables of pottery for sale in the Lee Chin Gallery at the AGB for the annual Christmas Sale/Soup Bowl event. I will also be part of the Burlington Fibre Arts Guild tables with felted work for sale.

All Guilds at the AGB will have their art for sale at the event, so it's an excellent opportunity to get some Christmas shopping done! There will be pottery (of course!), fibre art, rug hooking, weaving, painting, photography, sculpture and wood carving. Lots to see!

When there, why not take part in the Soup Bowl event? $50 gets you your choice of hand made soup bowl, a choice of artisanal soups, salads, rolls, coffee and dessert. You get to keep the bowl! I am hoping to donate at least 30 bowls to the event this year. The proceeds from Soup Bowl go directly to funding the AGB facility. Tickets for Soup Bowl go on sale around October 1, please go to the www.artgalleryofburlington.com website or call 905.632.7796.

The Christmas Sale is free to the public and the parking will be free for the weekend.

The Secret Gardens Of Milton Tour 2019

I will have my garden art and some felted work on display and for sale in one of the country gardens during the Garden Tour this year! (the one on First Line, just north of Conservation Road).

Presented by the Milton & District Horticultural Society
Sunday, July 7th, 10:00 am to 5:00 pm

Take a tour through nine gorgeous gardens. Four gardens in town and four in the country. The ninth garden showcases the brand new Milton Hospital “Serenity Garden’, planted and maintained by the Society’s volunteers. One of the many community gardens the Society looks after to help beautify Milton.

Highlights of the show:

• Tour some of the Milton’s beautiful private gardens
• Converse with our experienced Horticulture Society’s members
• Discover useful insights on design and planting ideas
• Soak up and enjoy the beauty of the gardens

This self-guided tour comes with a booklet describing the gardens and driving route suggestions. Start where you choose and proceed at your own pace. The tour takes place rain or shine (no refunds are offered as this is a fundraiser for the not-for-profit Society).
Stop for lunch at a favorite restaurant along the route; several are included in the booklet. Take time to enjoy each garden.

Early Bird Tickets available online until July 6th are $15.00.

You will receive online confirmation of payment from snapd. On the day of the Tour, Sunday, July 7th, bring your snapd e-ticket to Springridge Farm, 7256 Bell School Line, Milton, between 9:30 am and 1 pm to be redeemed for your garden tour booklet which includes a coupon for a free coffee and muffin, compliments of Springridge Farm.

On the Day of the Tour ONLY, Sunday, July 7th, from 9:30 am to 1 pm, tickets will be $20 (Cash, Credit or Debit accepted) in person at Springridge Farm, 7256 Bell School Line.

Chandra uses many materials - fibre, glass, wood, metal - to explore the joys of making. A good day is when the materials come alive in her hands, and her mind relaxes into the process. She will be bringing a selection of hand-bound journals, wire and resin jewellery, hand dyed scarves, glass and hand printed lino cut cards.

Angie Turkulja, the Artful Blingster, creates handcrafted, one-of-a-kind jewellery, with the focus to creating something that is as strikingly unique and versatile as the woman who will wear it. 

Michael Sheppard, wood carving
Michael has been working with wood for most of his life but has been carving for over 30 years. He has won the Best in Category award in many international wood carving competitions, specializing in birds of prey and song birds.

4th Annual All Guilds Show at the AGB

I have had a piece accepted for this show that combines the 2 guilds I belong to - the Potters and the new Fibre Arts Guild. The show runs for a month in the main Lee Chin Family Gallery and starts the same weekend as the Kaleidoscope Sale. I will also have pottery and fibre stuff for sale during that sale.

The opening reception for the All Guilds Show is on the day before the show officially opens. Friday April 20th from 5-7pm. There will be an awards ceremony that night.

The Kaleidoscope sale will be open Friday evening from 6:30 until 9pm. I will be at the opening reception, and Saturday afternoon from 3-5 and Sunday afternoon from 4-5. Hope to see you there too!

POTTERY - Open Studio

Thursdays in October,

from 1-4pm and/or 7-10pm

Are you interested in furthering your pottery skills in a relaxed but creative setting? You can come for handbuilding fun, or I have one wheel that you can book. Bring your own clay & tools. If you don't have tool, you can borrow mine. Cost is $10/hour which includes most firing costs. You can also use my glazes for an extra fee.

Space is limited to 6 people per time slot, so please book your space. You can come as often as you like. Please dress appropriately. I have a space heater, but it might be cool.

FELTING - Open Studio

Mondays* in August,

from 1-4pm and/or 7-10pm

Are you interested in furthering your felting skills in a relaxed but creative setting? You can wet felt or needle felt or both. Cost is $10/hour plus supplies (I will weigh your finished piece at the end of the session and charge by weight). I will supply water, bubble wrap, soap, noodles, spritzers, sheers, foam, needles. Please bring your own towels.

OAS Teachers' Exhibition 2016

The Oakville Art Society's annual Teachers' Show is on the latter part of September. If you find yourself in Oakville during that time, check it out! If you're looking to take a class, this is a great opportunity to see what art your instructors make and you can decide if you want to learn how to create something similar!
