3D Needle-Felted Art
Needle felting is amazing. You can create just about anything 3D with some wool.
Needle felting creates felt without the use of water. Special needles that are used in industrial felting machines are used by the artist as a sculpting tool. These needles have notches along the shaft of the needle that grab the top layer of fibres and tangle them with the inner layers of fibres as the needle enters the wool. Since these notches face down towards the tip of the needle, they do not pull the fibres out as the needle exits the wool. Once tangled and compressed using the needle, the felt can be strong and used for creating jewelry or sculpture. Using a single needle or a small group of needles (2-10) in a hand-held tool, fine details can be achieved using this technique, and it is used to create 2D and 3D felted work.
Purple and Lime Green Magic Mushroom
Faery House Mushroom
It started with frogs. I don't know why. I just like them! Then it branched out into toads (not such a stretch from frogs, really) then fish, then meeces, then bugs and also the occasional sheep. But I'm not going to limit myself to just those. Stay tuned to see what I come up with next....
Lots of critters
tree frogs, flying fish, toads, meeces, chameleons, ladybugs, sheeps, and more...

I make mostly Nuno felted scarves, and the occasional cobweb scarf. They're very light and airy and can be worn any time of year. They aren't hot, but they will keep off the chill. All of them are made of wool, many with super-soft merino wool and are often embellished with silk fibres and yarns. They're stylish and will add some punch to your wardrobe.
I sell them in my studio and at the AGB during the guild sales in April and November.
I also offer workshops where you can learn how to make your own scarf in an afternoon.
This is a large shawl 6' long by 2.5' wide. Merino, corriedale and alpaca wools, silks, yarns. $275 To purchase, please contact me!

Thin as air! Not too warm, not too cool - just right.
Some of these pieces were made for specific exhibitions, some just for fun, and some for commission.
Chicken Planters! Who says planters have to be round?
Yep, it’s a goat. It’s actually a life-size goat. Well, half of one. Constructed of clay (head, one horn, hooves, one knee), copper wire frame and wire wrapped horn, felted wool hide, forlock & beard.
These pieces were selected to be in the Burlington Potters' Guild annual juried exhibition "Celebrations in Clay" in 2013. The theme was "cluster".

Raku Totem I
This totem is in my garden. I bring it out each spring and marvel at the tonal differences that have occurred over the years with this one. It's quite organic in shape and I love that the surface colours keep changing slightly over time....
Raku Totem II
This one resides in a lovely garden in Burlington.
This charming little faery house can sit in a quiet spot in your garden or on a window sill. In the "build it and they will come" vein, put an inviting faery house in your garden and wait for the faeries to come! $65-$85 each.
birdbath closeup - tree frog
This detail photo shows a wee tree frog is sitting on a small leaf that's on the edge of a much larger leaf birdbath.
They come in many sizes, shapes and colours and all look amazing "erupting" out of the ground or out of a bunch of shrubbery. Adds a splash of colour where there is none, and adds some fun to the garden. Smaller ones are also available for potted plants. To see more, please click on the dragon tail photo on the home page.
Critters of all kinds
This is a grouping of some of the critters I have made. To see more, please see the "Critters" section by clicking on this picture on the home page.
